“I grew up on Vancouver Island, which if you are unfamiliar is a very large island off the west coast of British Columbia. On this island you drive everywhere, and everything is pretty far apart. I spent a lot of time driving in the middle of the night, up and down the coastal highway going from town to town. My favourite music for this activity fell between melodic 80s cinema synths and the dark pulses of modern electronic music heard on CBC 2 in the middle of the night.”
